A very popular game mode in Madden 23 is franchise mode. As with every year, franchise mode allows you to control an NFL team as head coach, star player, or team owner. With every year comes improvements, and Madden 23 provided improvements along with the same immersive and in-depth experience the player-base has come to know and love (or hate).
You can use the best team and win the Vince Lombardi trophy in one season, try and win with your favorite team, use the fantasy draft feature to create your own NFL universe, or take a multi-year approach and rebuild a franchise. Here are some of the best franchises to rebuild in Madden 23.
Houston Texans
Along with Laremy Tunsil and Derek Stingley Jr., the Houston Texans will have 12 picks to work with in the first draft of the season. You can use those picks to either trade or select draftees to your team to accelerate the rebuilding process.
Detroit Lions
Considered to be a division favorite in the 2023 NFL season and one of the best teams during the latter half of the 2022 season, the Detroit Lions are not only one of the most promising teams to take over, but one of the most fun teams. Headlined by young stars Aiden Hutchinson, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jameson Williams, and Penei Sewell, accompanied by not only their own, but the Rams first round pick, you have a luxurious amount of cap space, picks, and young talent to finish the rebuild General Manager Brad Holmes started.
Dallas Cowboys
Not normally looked at as a young team amid a rebuild, the Dallas Cowboys are a team with good young players, seven 2023 draft picks, and a big market to attract free agents. They ranked number one on ESPN’s list of teams with the best under-25 talent.
